It might sound easy to some people, but when life gets messy it’s hard to keep up the daily creative habit without fail for two whole months.
In 2014 and ’15, I managed to complete only 15 or 20 index cards each time, so I know what I’m talking about!
Last year, I didn’t take part because life was so busy that I forgot all about it until mid July.
The cards in this post are my favorites from my efforts in 2015.
This year, I think I’ve got the answer to completing the challenge
– come the end of the challenge, I’ll let you be the judge…
Hopefully I’ll manage to complete all 61 cards in that time.
The trick (I believe) is to not get hung up on creating an amazing work of art on each index card. I plan to just relax and enjoy some time each day messing around with my paints.
If the result is something I love, then that’s a side benefit. If not, then at least I’m keeping up my habit of spending at least a little time each day exploring my creative side.
I’m also interested in exploring more abstract works at this stage, so that’s something else to think about.
I hope you’ll look into the ICAD art challenge and give it a try, even if you don’t choose to share your creations online.
